I know I’ve been living under a rock for the past year, but I finally sat down yesterday and watched Downton Abbey. Am I the last person on the planet to be talking about this?
I don’t know how I feel about the show. I’ve only seen two episodes so far. Both had me a little bored and checking to see how much time was left, yet when they were over I found myself thinking about the show and looking forward for another episode. Kinda like Napoleon Dynamite I guess. Pretty much the lamest movie of all time, yet I can’t seem to stop quoting it and watching it over and over. (Yes, I just compared Downtown Abbey with Napoleon Dynamite. This is why I’m not Ebert.)
Hopefully the show will get better. And hopefully my ears will adjust to their thick accents. I can’t understand half of what is being said. I’m sure the show is quite lovely. I am just not cultured and sophisticated to get it. So, do you love the show? Does it get better? Even if it doesn’t, I’m still likely to watch it anyway.

Blissful Blooms gave her laundry room a cheerful makeover.
Love, Pomegranate House made some custom kitchen canisters WITHOUT a vinyl cutter. Very cool project. Everyone should read it.
I am seriously drooling over this custom crown moulding jig Remodelando la Casa made. I haven’t done crown yet because I’m skeered of it. I need to make one of these bad boyz.
I am digging this amazing pallet wood art from {Blooming Homestead}.
AliLilly dressed up a basic candle with some indian corn for a festive Fall centerpiece.
Oh-meee-goodness, I am dying over this amazing kitchen makeover from Cottage4c. LOVE the cabinet color.
Two Twenty One made some ORANGE (holla!) oreo truffles. What’s better than an oreo truffle? Not much, except maybe an orange oreo truffle. Yummm!
Check out this AMAZING step-by-step tutorial for making your own floating shelves from Desert Domicile. Seriously, it’s the best floating shelves tut I’ve seen to date. So go pin it!
Six Sisters’ Stuff made over a lamp and shade and couldn’t have picked a more fun color combo.
I just really love the elegant simplicity of this fall decor from Practically Functional. Who knew such a simple project would look so stunning? I must go paint everything I own gold now.
Love, Pomegranate House made a delicious looking pumpkin roll. I love pumpkin and I’m sure this recipe does not disappoint.
The Space Between jazzed up some super cheap and boring tea lights by just adding glitter around them. Seriously so freaking smart. Everything looks better with a little bling.

Thanks so much for hosting this awesome party! Those candy cane truffles look amazing, and I love that sign. I’ve linked up my Easy Cream Biscuits and Chocolate Gravy to the food board.
I hope you have a great weekend!

I love Downton Abbey! I can’t do anything when I watch it because I have to concentrate on their accents. One time I rewound a part I couldn’t understand five times. I studied their lips and everything. I got nothin’. Season 1 was really good– better than season 2, IMO. It gets better, trust me. Thanks for including my orange oreo truffles in your features! Longhorn Vader should pass them out at the next game!
Okay, I just linked my cheese souffle in the wrong category. There isn’t a red X. Help. My apologies for not being able to fully function.
As for Napoleon Dynamite, I loved that movie. One of my friends has begged and begged me to watch Downton Abbey, and I refused because I am a crappy friend. It just looks so boring. Maybe I should reconsider.
I just finished the 3rd episode. Much better than the first two. My advice: watch a few episodes, then decide.
I agree with you on Downton Abbey, plus I can hardly say it correctly. For a good year I thought it was Downtown Abbey…didn’t pay attention to the spelling apparently! I cannot do anything else while I watch it because I have to concentrate…definitely not a show to have on in the background while blogging, that’s for sure!
I just linked up my Wood & Wine Cork Pumpkin and my Ruffled Burlap Wreath…hope you like them! I just love your party…I always find such great inspiration here. I’m hoping to get my husband on board with installing some floating shelves like your feature. We’ve wanted to do exactly that for over a year and just keep putting it off! It’s time!!
Whoops, I can’t spell either! I just had to edit my post. lol
Woop Woop!! You know I think you’re the bomb diggity!!! And yes, everything is better with a little bling.
I always appreciate the party!
I am doing a series on Booth Displaying and just linked up the 3rd part of the series. There is so little out there information wise as to how to Display for booths that I thought it might be of help to many. Thanks for letting me link !

I watched the first two seasons of Downton Abbey in a week. I was addicted. I just watched the first two episodes of season 3 and I’m so excited. Stick with them you may end up liking it. I’ve got my husband, mom and grandma hooked.
Thanks for hosting!
Thank you so much for hosting your awesome party!
I just linked up to the party and wanted to thank you for hosting! Hugs, Penny
Thanks for hosting, as always! I love Downton Abbey. The storyline is just getting started in the first few episodes so it may seem kind of slow. Of course, it may just not be your cup o’ tea.
I cannot wait to see season 3.
I just finished the 3rd episode and liked it so much better. This show might be my cup of tea after all.
Thank you so much for hosting! Hope you are having a great week
Thanks for including the crown jig in the features Allison! Don’t let it scare you, give it a try!

Thanks for hosting!
Maybe you can give a detailed tutorial on how you made the jig? I’d love to make one!
Love that laundry room you featured!
Thanks so much for hosting Allison! XO, Aimee
Thanks so much for hosting Allison!
Thanks for hosting! Wishing you a grand evening. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse
oh my, I need to make those truffles!! Thanks for hosting again
Yes, yes you do.
I must be living under the same rock because I have yet to watch an episode of Downton Abbey. It’s on my list of things to do though, I hear it’s really good. Thanks for putting together the party Allison!
Thanks for hosting! Hope you have a great week!
Blessings,
Nici
Thanks for an awesome party….I’m certain my waistline is not agreeing after looking at all those awesome eats but my brain is certainly happy for totally rad inspiration! Thanks!
Aw man! I was a baller tonight and got the #3 spot and that darn frog decided to eat my pic. I linked up again (#128). Hope you don’t mind!
I’ve never watched any Downton Abbey either. So no, you weren’t the last.
I was talking to my sister about it and I called it Downtown Abbey, cause that’s what I thought it was. Ha. I totally know what you mean about Napoleon Dynamite. Dumbest show, but gets funnier every time you watch it. Anyway, thanks for hosting the link party. I hope you have a great week!
Eek! Thank you so much for featuring my laundry room- what a sweet surprise!
You made my night!
You are welcome!
Don’t worry about it, I only started watching Downton Abbey a few weeks ago… I’m so far behind on TV shows it’s not even funny.
Thanks so much for featuring my fall leaves decor, totally made my day!
Awww, Allison! Thank you so much for featuring my Kitchen Canisters AND my Pumpkin Roll! You are too kind! And I agree about the Downton Abbey… took me a little bit to get into it. The first 2 episodes are very much introduction but then I really came to like it!
I loved both of your projects. I couldn’t pick just one!
Hahahaha, we use “dang quesadilla” in more ways than you can imagine. Haven’t watched Downton Abbey yet (I guess we live under the same rock….) and I even won a Kindle at my chiropractor’s office with free Amazon Prime and still haven’t watched it. And my brother gave me his Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightly…..and I still haven’t watched that! Hmmmmm….maybe it IS the accents.
I LOVE Keira Knightly. She is such a great actress.
Thank you for hosting! Those orange truffles look heeaavenyly!
I love Downton! Watched some tonight in fact!
thanks for hosting.
Hi Allison, thank you so much for hosting the party! I look forward to reviewing all the great links.
Have a good day, Nancy
Thanks for hosting! I will have to checkout Downtown Abbey. I haven’t even heard of it; but it sounds like I should see what it’s about. Enjoy the rest of your week!
Ohmygoodness, stick with it! The first few episodes of Downton are a little slow, but I watched the entire second season in two days! The DRAMA! The INTRIGUE! PERIOD CLOTHES! It’s amazing!
Yes! You are 100% right. I watched the rest of the season last night and I am hooked.
Sorry about some of the links with no photos today. I am having difficulty at the cropping photo stage of the link and have contacted inlinkz to try to fix this as it is happening to be everywhere today.
Don’t worry, I haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet either! Thanks for hosting your amazing party and have a wonderful day!
Love Always,
Liz
Thanks so much for hosting! Absolutely fabulous features this week!! Have a beautiful weekend
-Fotini
Thanks for hosting! Love your party!
Definitely stick with Downton. It just keeps getting better and better! And I’m not too proud to say that my hubby and I totally watched the first 5 episodes with the subtitles turned on! We couldn’t understand them either!
Love all the inspiration at this party! Thanks for hosting!
I’m still “under the rock” and living in a cave. I have yet to watch Downtown Abby. Is it really worth it? Maybe I’ll look into it…
Great party, Allison! I hope you are having a great week!
Thank you so much for hosting this party!! I’m a little new to this and I messed up and submitted my link to the “Recipe” area.
So sorry about that!
Keep up the great work!
Jennette
Jennette, it’s okay! Just don’t let it ever happen again. haha just kidding. Take care and have a great weekend!
Thanks for hosting!
Allison! Thank you tons for featuring my kitchen along with all of these amazing projects!! Your super sweet words totally made my day! Still smiling…
I have also been wanting to watch Downton Abbey. Today is cool and rainy, and a perfect day to start, I think!
Thanks again-
Brenda
Oh, boy. I am a complete TV moron. I haven’t seen Downtown Abbey, either!
Thanks for hosting!
Kerry at HouseTalkN
Oh I have heard so many good reviews about that show. I am still under the rock
Thank you so much for hosting, have a wonderful week!

WOW!! Thanks so much for featuring my Indian Corn Centerpiece!! And….I just might be the last one that hasn’t watched Downton Abbey!
You are welcome Ami! I love your creative projects. xoxo
i uploaded to the wrong one by accident, sorry;-)
thanks for hosting
Thanks for featuring my floating shelves tutorial!!! I haven’t watched Downton Abbey yet either but I might check it out this weekend
Your shelves are amazing. I am adding them to my to-do list.
Thanks for the great party every week.
Debi @ Adorned From Above
Downton Abbey does get better. In fact my hubby kinda (alot) whined when I watched the second season online at PBS, and then months later got into it himself (after watching a comedy show make fun it- he needed to get the joke) Now he is whining that the third season does not come out until January here! This article makes me love the actor that plays Lord Grantham that much more:http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/culture/7736967/Downton-star-makes-surprise-Palmy-visit. Nothing that cool ever happened when I went to that school!
I just discovered your blog and am now following you, because I need all the help I can get in DIY and home projects. Also linked up with you.
Thanks.
Gaye
Gaye, so glad you are here!
Thanks for hosting!
Hi Allison…no, you are not the only one left not watching Downton Abbey! I have not seen any episodes yet! So you are ahead of me. I think I would enjoy it…just need to find the time to sit and watch it. Maybe soon since my DVR cable box just died and erased ALL of my previously recorded shows…ugh!
Thanks for hosting the link party…love browsing through all of the great posts and ideas.
THANKS for hosting! Love the laundry room you featured!
Ha! I thought I was the only who hasn’t seen that show yet.
Thanks so much for hosting this link party!
Thanks for letting me link up, but “whoopsie” I think I posted in the wrong section. sorry! I’m a bed, not a recipe. And I’ve considered a trial membership to Hulu Plus just so I can find out what all this “Downtown Abbey” talk is about. No idea, just PBS and Proper English speaking. There are probably parasols.
Lots of parasols. I didn’t know what a parasol was until a few years ago when I was at a theme park (Silver Dollar City) selling “parasols” that you can decorate yourself. Doh! I was like “what’s a parasol? These are umbrellas.” I swear, I do live under a rock.
Thanks for hosting, Allison!
We like Downton Abbey at our house. In some ways it does get better but in other ways it is too predictable. My older children like it too (12 and up). We watch it on websites like graboid or videobull instead of waiting until it airs in the States. We can catch the current season now airing in Great Britain on Sunday nights just moments after it airs.
