Shelley sent me this vinyl (not the frame, just the vinyl):
Shelley owns Wonderfully Wordy, an online vinyl shop. I’m just *a little* obsessed with Shelley’s vinyl (okay, I talk about it ALL the time!) and of course I’m so cool so she sent me a little gift as a Thank You for scratching her back.
So anyway, now I’ve got this adorable Christmas Tree vinyl (that I was going to order anyway from her because my gosh! look at it, it’s stinkin’ ah-freaking-dorable, but shhh! don’t tell her that).
Besides the obvious (copy what Shelley did with a frame), any ideas? I’ve only got 24 more days until Christmas and I want to enjoy my new tree vinyl because I wuve it so much.
I don’t want to stick it to a wall or window because then I can’t use it again and again for years to come. I need to stick it to something that I can pack away after Christmas until next year.
Leave your ideas in the comments!
THANKS!
I’ll show you the pics as soon as I figure out how to use it.
{Oh, and she sent me a few more decals, but they aren’t Christmas-sensitive, so I’ll show you them later.}

Oh I love that vinyl!! That is gor-geous! What about on a charger or a plate that you could either hang or display in a stand?
Mandy says
if you stuck it on something metal (like a cookie sheet) you could make 24 little magnetic ornaments and countdown to Christmas….

It’s so stinkin’ CUTE!!!!!!

I am thinking maybe an apothecary or a small plate that you can set up on a mantle or hang on a wall? I also like the magnetic idea and use it as a Advent calendar of sorts for the fridge?
With the apothecary you could put christmas bulbs in it that are silver and it would be a cute background or even put in some stuffing and it could be “snow”.

How about on a crisp white platter for Christmas Cookies? Or to hang on the wall with an empty frame around it?
Or, you could put it on a vase or apothecary jar and use it to hold/display Advent days/activities.
Interested to see what you come up with! 🙂

I would just use a piece of painted canvas or MDF. That way you can put it on your mantel. LOVE that she used flourishes to make a Christmas tree! It is beautiful!

I was thinking a platter or large dish…maybe white or cream. Or a vase, or even a lamp shade. WOW. That is one ca-ute tree!

Do you have anything to display/gather all your Christmas cards? I think it would be cute to put the tree on a platter or catch-all basket of some kind that will hold all of the Christmas correspondence from your family & friends! 🙂
Clare says
Hopefully no one said this already. The vinyl could be applied to the glass from a ready made frame…size your choice. Then you could change the background from year to year (fabric, paper etc-cut to fit the frame.) You could even change the frame out if you stick to standard ready made sizes.

OH.MY.GOSH. I LOVE that little tree so much!! Love it! I totally agree with the plate/platter idea or Clare’s cute idea to put it on a frame’s glass and change out the background later. But what about a pillow? Can you even use vinyl on a pillow? Or a table runner?
SueAnn says
Love the tree….I would be so tempted to put it up permanently!! Ha!!
I like the pillow idea…that could work. A burlap pillow??

I would get a nice slab of wood, paint it white but distress it and plop it on there…just cause I am digging that look right now.
Or
I second the frame idea! I have done that and it makes the possibilies endless!

Starting in October I have a picture of my recent seasonal art. You could have a framed photo of your different pictures for all the holidays. I’ll admit my October one is still up and I need to put a Christmas one up now. Some of us are not as organized as you, but I’m still proud that I’ve done a Christmas craft already (silver Christmas trees like yours). 🙂
