I need help losing weight. I need a support group around me. I can’t do this alone.
So I created a weight loss group.
My husband found this site:
He’s used this website for about a year now to track his calories, workouts, weight, and everything related to healthy living. He’s been trying to convert me for some time now, but I’m really {really} stubborn.
However, recently I’ve decided to get healthy.
This is just not cutting it for me anymore.
I’ve had such a huge positive reaction to my openness about my weight struggles! {{Thank you, Thank you!!}}
Many of you have left comments or emailed me wanting to diet with me. {Double thank you!}
There’s nothing like a huge support system to keep you motivated and an track, so I finally caved to my husband and created a House of Hepworths weight loss group over at fatsecret.
The group is free to join. Once you join you can keep track of your weight, calories, etc as well as post in our forum to help keep the chatter and encouragement going.
(I AM NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS. I am NOT affiliated with fatsecret in any way, shape, or form.)
So far we have 41 members! Yowza! And we are all chatting away with our weight stories, encouragement, and support for each other. It’s been loads of fun and I personally invite each and every one of you to come join the party.
To join the group simply
I am still trying to get familier with fatsecret and how it works. As of now you’ll have to bookmark and check the site daily, but hopefully soon they will have the functionality to send you emails when your posts are commented on. They do have an iPhone app to track your calories, but you can’t get into the group from the app (yet).
Ben emailed them and they said they are working on these two items and hope to release them soon. So for now, bookmark the site and check in daily!
Thanks for your huge amounts of support and encouragement! I seriously wouldn’t be able to stop. eating. the. donuts. without your encouragement and help!
2nd disclaimer in case you missed it the first time: (I AM NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS. I am NOT affiliated with fatsecret in any way, shape, or form.)

Know what the best part about fatsecret is? If you have android, you can download a free app called “calorie counter” and it syncs with fatsecret. And the best part about that? It has a BAR CODE SCANNER!!!! so you don’t even have to enter in the nutritional details of what you ate – you just take a picture of the barcode.
/in full disclosure, i just found out i’m pregnant, so i guess i’m not really trying to lose weight anymore. but maybe it will help me stay eating healthy.

I’ve been looking for a support group lately. Yesterday, I decided to give up on finding one.
I’ve been struggling with fertility issues and decided to get my weight in check while taking this latest round of meds. I’ve started this year off pretty well actually.
Unfortunately, although my whole family have always been on the big side, none of them are very supportive of me. When I was young, I had a really high metabolism, so they never stopped seeing me as a toothpick no matter how much I’ve gained! The weird thing is, they are all very supportive of each other, even supportive of my sister that weighs less than I do! 🙁
Lots of luck to yall! 🙂

I love it! The support is awesome and has helped me lose 4 lbs in my first week of joining. I really needed the accountability factor and this has done the job. I have faith I will make it to my goal! Thanks again!

Support is such a big help in this kind of task. When I lost weight it helped to have a gym buddy and someone to keep me on task, and reversly when I could help my gym buddy and so on.

In addition to the Android app, fatsecret also has a blackberry & iPhone app. I use the iPhone app and it is great! I just wish they would add forum support and push notifications….give them some time and I bet they will.

I joined up! I’m looking forward to support; both giving and receiving. And yes, I agree about the idea of ‘accountability’ that Christie mentioned. Thank you so much for setting this up!
