Today’s the big day! Today we are leaving on a month long
ROAD TRIP!
I LOVE love love road trips.
I’ll admit it, Ben and I are addicted, ADDICTED, to gas stations. There’s nothing better than driving for forever, then stopping in to pump gas and grab a 20 oz Diet Dr Pepper while were there (and maybe some Hot Tamales). It’s such a huge waste of money. But we can’t help it. We love buying 20 oz sodas!
So, where are we going you ask?
Let’s just say we are headed north east from Texas, up through Toronto, then around to NYC, down through Jersey, Virginia, Atlanta, then back home. We’ve got about a bazillion stops lined up along the way!
Um, why?
WHY NOT I say! Some people are not up for long car rides, but we think it’s better than sliced bread! In case you are wondering, Ben doesn’t have that much vacay, he’s making pit stops along the way to work with a few clients on site.
As far as hotels, we are so lucky and have most of them comp’d! Ben use to be a Consultant, and because of all his traveling he’s got loads of hotel points saved up. We are using every last point while we are gone.
As for our house, it was a lot of planning, but we’ve got that covered as well. We have family checking in on it frequently, another family member staying part of the time, and because my husband works with a security company, we’ve got the place secured down like Ft Knox (so don’t try any funny business ’cause we’ll know and you’ll be hauled away in a cop car. And if you escape before they get there, don’t worry, we’ve got the place wired with cameras. For real. I’m not kidding. We are just that serious about it.)
I was considering blogging while traveling on the open roads with the wind in my hair, but then I decided it was just going to be too stressful. Instead, I’ve got a great surprise for you guys!
I put out a call to action on my blog last week asking for guest bloggers. The turnout has been incredible. Did you know I’ve got over 60 bloggers who will be entertaining you while I’m gone.
Each guest blogger is going to share their 3 most favorite projects with you. If you like them, click on over and give them a big squeezy hug! By the end of my vacation, you will have seen at least 90 new projects!
Don’t worry, my Weekly Link Party will still be posted each Wednesday night. I can find an internet connection at least once a week I’m sure!
If you are having serious Allison withdrawals while I’m away, I will be periodically blogging about our vacation and posting it over on my husbands blog. Just subscribe to his blog and then you can follow along when I make a new post.
Also, I will be posting photos and lots of witty sarcastic nonsense on my Facebook Fan Page, so if you haven’t “liked” me yet over there, click through and do so, or you’ll miss all the whackadoo banter.
Also, while I’m gone I’m probably going to meet one of the most awesome bloggers in the entire universe, but I’m not sayin’ who as not to jinx myself. You’ll have to wait until we are in the state of Virginia to see who I’m talkin’ ’bout. wink.
I’ll be back before you know it. Definitely before the cows come home (hardy har har). (These aren’t just any cows. They are real for real Amish cows! 😉 )
Please take a minute each day to visit these guest bloggers and give them a big virtual hug for me.
I’ll be back soon. Promise.
Don’t cry! You will survive without me.
Miss you already!
PS: If you’ve emailed me over the last several months, I’ve been waiting to reply to most emails while we’re in the car all day every day, so expect an email reply while I’m gone.
PSS: I’ll have email the whole time I’m gone, so please don’t hesitate to drop me a line for any reason at all.
PSSS: Regular blogging will resume on or around July 21st, depending on how tired I am.
xoxo

I live in Hershey, PA – you’ll be in my neck of the woods! 🙂 I see you’ve been to Lancaster before so hopefully you know this, but in order to not be detected as a tourist you need to pronounce it correctly; LANG-cas-ter not as it is usually pronounced lang-CAST-er. It’s all about the emphasis placement! 🙂
