Last April I posted about my Rodney White obsession and the new artwork I scored on Craigslist. This art totaled my 4th piece of Rodney White artwork.
And I quote from that post,
“I swear this is the last Rodney White print I will buy. ”
Then I got a little cheeky when I said,
“I really want to get this one too, but I fear that FIVE prints would be well above and beyond obsessive-compulsive. ”
Well, I’m eating my words, big time. I am officially “well above and beyond obsessive-compulsive”.
Look at the newest artwork I scored last week at Ross…
Isn’t is fab?!
OMG what is wrong with me? I do NOT need 5 pieces of artwork from the same artist!!! It’s like a full-blown addiction. Are there 12-step programs for art addiction? I’ve got RodneyWhiteArtwork-holism.
I don’t even know where I’m going to hang it. But darn it, I love it. And isn’t that all that really matters anyway? Some people may say 5 is too much of a good thing, but I disagree.
Here are the other prints I have by him:
This one, “Life Needs More Green Lights” was originally over my fireplace. Currently it’s homeless waiting for us to finish painting the stairwell where it will reside.
And this one…
…currently hangs in my guest bathroom, but it’s a little dark for my liking in that little room, so it will eventually have a new home somewhere else in the house, I’m just not sure where yet.
And then there’s my favorite one…
…which hangs in my kitchen.
Here’s my 4th one in our family room.
And now the 5th and FINAL {I’m serious, you guys!} painting:
This cherry one will probably go upstairs near the kids bedrooms just off the gameroom. You’ll just have to wait and see.
Oh, and in case you are wondering why on earth I’d consider buying a 5th painting from the same artist, it’s because I was strolling through Ross the other day and happened upon it (I NEVER find Rodney White at discount stores). It was $50, which is more than I usually spend on the fly, but for a print this size, $50 is a great deal, so I called Ben to make sure we had the cash for it, and then I made it mine. muawahahahaha.
So, seriously. Is there a recovery program for Rodney White addicts?

I love them all! I can see why you have an obsession. I totally want one myself. Maybe you would want to send one my way? 🙂

This is such a steal! My fav is Share a Random Moment – we have it hanging over our dining room table with shelves on either side. When we travel and try new foods, or have groups of friends over for birthdays or dinner parties on a whim, we take a photo and add it to the “Share a Random Moment” shelves. The best moments happen over mugs of something warm, of this I am convinced 🙂

I have 3 of the prints that you do (cherries, lemonade, and the random moment) as well as 4 much smaller ones (8×10 and 8x14ish) but I love them all so much. I’m thinking I’m going to make a gallery of them in the dining room. That way it feels like a collection (and having more is then ok) AND I can find other things to love for the other areas of the house.

ah- you’re fine- you don’t need recovery…. they are lovely, and who can pass up a deal??!!! I say, we’ll help you find a recovery centre once you hit double digits with your obsession purchases…..LOL !!!! You’re good girl…. so which one do you have your eye on next? 😀

ok so i wasn’t in rodney white rehab…..until this post. I absolutely love these prints!!!!

C’mon! 50.00 for something that you totally love! Of course it was the right thing.

I think you should make a gallery of them, or at least put a couple of them together on one wall. You have good taste, he is an unbelievable artist. No 12 step program needed, you just have a love for a great artist and it shows.
Carol Haney says
I don’t have any….but I sooo want them ALL!!!! I think 5 prints only qualifies as an interest in an artist not a compulsion. Hey, I’m trying to help you out here girl. 🙂

I LOVE the wording on the cherry print! I might have to add it to my Christmas list!
Kim says
Buy as many as you want and rotate them 🙂
SueAnn says
Nope! No recovery available for your addiction! You are doomed to enjoy his work and probably more in your near future!! Ha!
I love your prints and I say Congratulations!!!

Surrounding yourself with art that you love is a good thing. If you need help, I am really in trouble. I have 17 pieces of art hanging on the walls, all by the same artist. My daughter, and her fiance refer to this house as the museum.
Valerie@craftyvalentinegirl.blogspot.com says
I love the prints and agree with several other comments that a grouping would look great. They are a bit on the small side to be along, but a group of 3 in a row, or 4 in a box set would look fantastic.

Allison, in my opinion, that is absolutely the way to choose artwork. Buy something you love, then use it as your inspiration piece to decorate a room. I just think it is wrong to buy a piece of artwork simply because it is perfect for a space. I have plenty of empty walls to prove that. I will not hang a picture unless I love it, because I believe your choice of art reveals something about you. You don’t want to say the wrong thing, do you? By the way, I love what the Rodney White pieces say about you!

I had never heard about Rodney White until I read today’s post. I love the seek happiness print and the motorcycle print. I am now obsessed with trying to find them. My basement isn’t finished yet (hubby still working on it), but now I know I need to put these in there and add red to my color scheme. Thanks so much for sharing. Oh, and if anyone knows where I can get one of these prints or canvases on the cheap, please let me know .

Love your blog and I think your RW prints are great.
You have a huge game room upstairs… why not hang your collection in there? I think it would be fabulous!
Caitlin @ Hardly Housewives says
I don’t have anything by Rodney White but I do have SEVEN prints from the one artist and three from another. Those paintings are all ones that could go together as a set or be displayed separately. Also, I make my own paintings and as much as I try to do new things and branch out, all of my own art always ends up looking pretty similar. So I guess you love what you love 🙂

I L*O*V*E* Rodney White! I came across the Bitch & Whine print years ago while I was out of town before he became so popular and immediately knew I had to have it. I kicked myself for not buying it right then and there. Unfortunately I could never find it in that size again so I have a much smaller version but I absolutely adore it!!

I just bought the cherry canvas last night at Ross too! I paid $49.99 and it looks AMAZING in my kitchen!
Can you tell me where you found your other Rodney White’s? I would LUV the Coffee Cup or Lemon-aid one!!! Did you get them all at Ross??? I need MORE!!! OBSESSED right now 🙂

I FINALLY got the Seek Happiness print. It is smaller than yours, only 16×16 but I bought it anyway. $16.99 at TJ Maxx!
Thanks for sharing your obsession! I blogged about it and mentioned you here:
