If you haven’t had a chance to meet them yet, stop by and tell ’em hi! They are all awesomespice with a cordial cherry on top!
This week I’m excited to introduce you to another amazing blogger who I’m lucky enough to call a friend:
Katie from Newcomb Home!
Katie has an eye for style, is great at crafting and coming up with cool decor on a dime, and has the best tips and pointers.

Hi HoH Readers! I’m excited to be at Allison’s site today to introduce myself.
I’m Katie from Newcomb Home. I live with my husband and our two furry roommates in Portland, Oregon. We also have a few chickens, who are banished to the guest house shed in the back yard. I’m a cubicle rat/worker-bee by day and a home improvement, wine, and TV addict at night.
Yes, this is a photo of a photo. I’m sorry. I don’t have a digital copy and its literally the only pic I’ve ever taken where my eyes aren’t bugging out like a crazy 🙂
I started Newcomb Home to document our crazy ride trying to balance all that comes with a marriage and home improvement, and quickly realized it serves another purpose.
If I document all of our home improvement attempts, readers can learn from my mistakes. I mess up. A lot. Even when I’m following directions! (It has nothing to do with the wine. Promise.)
Here are a few projects where you can learn from my mistakes (and a few pretty ones too for good measure). I hope you’ll grab a drink, head over to Newcomb Home, and check them out!
How to Update an Outdated Vanity
With just about $15 bucks and a bit of elbow grease, I was able to turn our 1990s blue mess into a simple modern vanity (and share my tips!).
How to Edge Tile (the cheap and easy way!)
A Trick to Spray Paint Hardware (its a cinch!)
Now for the pretty ones 🙂
How to Make a Custom Ice Bucket Just in time for football season.
{It’s me, Allison chiming in… Shhhh, don’t tell Ben I let a logo other than The University of Texas grace my blog! hehe Cool bucket though, amIright?!!}
How to Make Elegant Water Pitchers
A quick, easy craft using recycled bottles? Yes!
Party Hosting Tips for Everyone
Help your guests (and yourself!) feel relaxed and happy!
I hope you’ll head on over to Newcomb Home to check out all of our projects, recipes, and all the trouble we get ourselves into fumbling our way through home renovation. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter.
Thanks again Allison for the opportunity to introduce myself, for your fabulous ideas, and most of all, for your sense of humor.

Thanks Katie for hanging out! It was fun getting to know you better. 🙂

I’ve been doing lots of spray painting using similar techniques. Hanging items from a bent shirt hanger or a string from the garage rafters works well, too.

Definitely checking out the tip for edging tile! I’m repainting one of our bathrooms and the tile edges are a mess!
