Hey guys! Each Friday all summer long I’m inviting a blog friend over to my bloggy house (here!) to hang out with me and all of you!
Shannon from {aka} Design is here this week to hang out with us. You’ll know in about 2 seconds why I love her blog so much. Just check out all the crazy amazing projects she does!

Hello HoH readers!!! I’m so excited to be guest posting on House of Hepworth’s today!
Okay, I do have to tell you a little secret – up until Tuesday, I totally forgot I was guest posting this week. And then the ever-so-sweet Allison emailed to remind me. Then I was totally stoked and couldn’t wait to visit with you and gab and share. Really and truly.
How embarrassing. Sigh.
Moving on.
Let me introduce myself…I’m Shannon and I’m the creator/writing half of aka design. Together with my super-crazy-handy hubby, Dean, we share our thrifty design finds, organization ideas and affordable DIY projects with our readers. Occasionally we share a yummy recipe too. And we have a weekly DIY Link Party where our readers show off their best projects. We’re also totally busy with our three kids – Jonah, Lillian & Megan – and our little Yorkie, Penny.
That’s us after a very restful anniversary weekend this past April. Without kids. For the first time in a couple of years. Pure bliss.

As my guest post, I want to share a few of our most popular projects and makeovers with you – you know, just to show you our stuff!
In case you happen to want to visit our blog. Hint hint.
Ahem.
By far our most-loved project was our Vintage You Are My Sunshine Art. It was part of a Mother’s Day campaign. And we were absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. Apparently Pinterest loved it too. It was pinned an insane number of times. Like 7k plus!
_____
Our Reclaimed Wood-Look Headboard was one of the easiest projects ever. Really simple to recreate! Like screw-some-timber-to-the-wall-slap-some-stain-on-it-and-yer-done simple! And yet it’s still one of my very favourite projects. Go figure!

Who loves a great knock-off? What about a Restoration Hardware knock-off for MUCH less? Like over $2k for the real thing vs $150 for our version! Yes, I thought maybe. Check out our RH Knock-Off Dutch Shipyard shelves!

Have you ever participated in one of those Pinterest Challenges that happen in blogland? Well we did and it was a blast. We finally got around to hacking my old Ikea Moppe drawers into a Card Catalog-esque Jewelry Box! Lurve!
_____
We’ve also done our share of makeovers. Apparently a 70 year old house doesn’t last forever! Ha! We’ve gutted a kitchen, redecorated a living a dining room combo, souped up our son’s room and built ourselves a bedroom, among other things.
We’d love for you to come and visit us at aka design sometime.
Thank you so much for having us, Allison!!! Super sweet of you!

Can’t you just tell why I love {aka} Design? Her projects are to.die.for. I just love the vibe of her house. Oh, and random facts about Shannon and I (that she doesn’t even know!): We both have a Yorkie and we are both married to a Dean. (Well, Ben’s middle name is Dean).
