Hello, hello to HoH’s readers! First let me just say that Allison is the bees knees and I am so excited to be guest posting on her blog today! My name is Kimberly and I blog over at HomemakingExpert.com. My blog began as a frugal find kinda joint and then I started dipping my toes into the world of home decor on a budget. I completely fell in love!
I am a work from home mom of one little boy. I am a military wife and my super cute supportive husband and I are living in Las Vegas. I grew up in Mississippi, so I’m living my own Beverly Hills Clampets kinda life as this red neck chick living in the big city. But I love it!!
As I began trying my hand at posting some DIY and decor projects, wreaths kinda became my comfort zone. I have several tutes on my blog about holiday themed and DIY wreaths. I guess I felt like it was a good place to start since I could always remove the wreath from my door if it was totally hideous. Commitment phobe – that’s me. One of my favorites of the wreaths was the Valentine Felt number that cost me only $3!
And then as I got over my commitment issues, I tackled my son’s nursery. I saw a Dr. Seuss bedding set from Pottery Barn that was to die for…meaning it was gorgeous and would have totally killed my budget. The more I looked at it and drooled over it I thought to myself, “I bet I could make that.” And so I did. Here are a few pics from that project:
A DIY mobile made from a couple plastic buckets and some fabric scraps.
My PB inspired quilt! It was really easy to make because the lines are intentionally crooked!
The full Seussical nursery. My favorite room in the house!
Again, I’m so glad to get a moment of face time on Allison’s sweet blog! Happy DIY’ing!
